PERSPECTIVES

This holiday season I thought that I should slow down and finally enjoy it. You see, in the past, my December days have flown by so quickly that, in some circumstances, gift buying was left to the day before Christmas Eve. It was very negligent of me, and I was very disappointed in the way I allowed the days to disappear without paying attention to them. This year is different and pointedly so.

Each morning, I reminded myself to use every minute for something purposefully constructive and productive. Christmas cheer was included.

I fared pretty well. In fact, I was ahead of schedule, and enjoying the beauty and awesomeness of the season. This "conscientious slowing down of time" allowed me also to remember the magic Christmases of the past and relay them to my children. I even pressed some of my friends and family to share their special memories with me. Two wrote them down. Their special remembrances are included on page fourteen for you to enjoy. They may jiggle those memories of your Christmases past that have been tidied away due to lack of time or ultra busy schedules. They may also jiggle those memories of other holidays, as Easter, which have special traditional meaning in all of our lives. If they do, take a pen to hand and write them down. I’d love to include them during the next holiday season.

The BRIDGES staff sends their best wishes to you and your family for an unforgettable and blessed Christmas and a wonderful New Year!
